You are invited to the opening of the exhibition “Light from Light – Nicaea, 1700 Years Later” on Saturday,Light from Light - Nicaea, 1700 years later28 March 2026 at 6:00 PM at the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit in Şişli, Istanbul. The inauguration will be led by Mons. Massimiliano Palinuro during the Holy Mass of the Palms.
Promoted by the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross and the Patres Association, and curated by an international team of scholars, the exhibition was created for the Meeting for Friendship Among Peoples 2025 and later brought to Istanbul.
Marking the 1700th anniversary of the Council of Nicaea, the exhibition explores its lasting relevance. It presents Nicaea not only as a doctrinal milestone but as an event that speaks to human life today—especially through its affirmation of God as Father and the idea of divine self-giving. Visitors are invited to reflect on how this understanding shapes relationships, freedom, and reason.
