The Salesians of Don Bosco was founded by the priest Don Bosco in the XIX century by pontifical law, with the aim of helping poor children during the industrial revolution. "Living the common life with one heart and one soul". This is how the Constitution of the Dominican Congregation defines our life. In order to show the perfection of God's love for us and to follow Jesus Christ, we consecrate ourselves fully to God and, through the promises made, God places us at the service of the universal Church: our mission is to proclaim the Word of God in all its forms. By participating in the apostolic mission, we also live in the framework of the life envisioned by St. Dominic: living our common life in one heart and one soul, faithful to biblical exhortations, unity in liturgical celebrations and a strong celebration - especially the Eucharistic celebration - and in personal prayer, diligent in study and persevering in prayer. Because the Mysteries of the Faith and the Word is a priestly mission, we are a Clerical mission, and in the mission there are many cooperating monks and they live the common priestly character in a special way.

Information about the Kapusen Monks
They come from the "Osservanti" branch of the Franciscan "Osservanti", which constitutes the great Franciscan family, founded in 1525. Since their foundation, their aim has been to follow the precepts of their brother Francis to the letter, almost as a natural stimulus. The "transfughi" (renegades) of this Fra Matteo da Bascio († 1552) with his three brothers, obedient parishioners, received the "Religionis zelus" reception (bulla) on July 3, 1528. This was the legal regulation of the birth of the Kapusen Priests. The name Kapusen is derived from their hoods, which were sewn on their clothes and shaped like a pyramid. They were so beloved by the people that they were called "the people's monks". The life of today's Kapusen essentially reflects the way of life of St. Francis over the centuries: simple, close to people, raised in a fraternal and prayerful daily life, open to everyone, flexible, able to listen.
