P.Paolo Raffaele Pugliese
Paolo Raffaele Pugliese, born in Buenos Aires on 11.07.1978, grew up in Rome and joined the Capusen Friars in Emilia Romagna in 1999.
He was ordained a priest in 2008, came to Turkey, to the Virgin Mary in 2009, and then returned to Rome at the end of 2013 to work on patriology.
He was in Antakya from 2016 until the end of 2019.
In January 2019, he received his PhD in Patriology with a critical edition of a text by Joseph Hazzaya, an 8th century Syriac mystic writer.
At the end of 2019, he was called back to Italy to work on youth and vocational pastoral work. He is a lecturer at the Pontifical University Antonianum and at the FTER (Faculty of Theology of Emilia Romagna) in Bologna.
In September 2023, he returned to Turkey as the Capuchin Brothers' Delegate to Turkey. He currently serves as a parish priest at St. Stefan Church in Yeşilköy.
