Istanbul Apostolic Vicar Mons. Massimiliano Palinuro, Apostolic Vicar of Istanbul, the Latin Catholic Community of Istanbul came together on the Vigil of the Eucharist. The year 2024 is celebrated as the Year of the Eucharist in Turkey. For this reason, a meeting was organized around the theme of the Eucharistic Congress to be held in Quito, the capital of Ecuador. The speaker of the meeting was Father Claudio Monge, a priest of the Church of St. Pierre et Paul. Father Claudio said that true fraternity is not a human mediation, but a gift that comes from outside and must be accepted in complete freedom. Father Claudio explained that those who accept the Lord as a gift can have communion with him and with the brothers and sisters. After his talk, groups were formed according to the languages spoken and two questions were asked:
* What are the elements that can foster brotherhood?
* What gift can you personally offer to enrich this brotherhood?
Afterwards, Eucharistic adoration was held in the Cathedral and the prayer intentions of each group were read.
Afterwards, refreshments prepared by the Episcopate were shared in the Cathedral courtyard and the day ended in fraternity.
