St. Stefanos Latin Catholic Church

St. Stephen was the first martyr of Christianity. In the fourth century, the Byzantine Empire brought the bones of St. Stephen from Palestine to Constantinople.
to bring them back. These bones were then sent on their way to Italy. But off the coast of today's Yeşilköy, the ship was caught in a storm and
they had to go ashore. A tent was erected on the landing and a church dedicated to St. Stefonos was built on the site of this tent. St.
St. Stefanos Church is led by Franciscan Capuchin priests. Services are offered in Turkish and Italian.
