They decided to allocate a large part of this inheritance to the construction of a large new church in Makrik\u00f6y (today Bak\u0131rk\u00f6y). The name of this family - Olivo - remains a blessing among us to this day. In the completed church, he lies in a crypt under a marble slab and every year a service is held for these generous souls.<\/p><p>The cornerstone of the new building was laid on April 25, 1884, blessed by the Apostolic Delegate Bishop Rotelli. Shortly afterwards, a forced interruption delayed construction. On April 13, 1885, a \"will\" from the empire allowed work to resume.
